Buhoma Lodge is one of the exclusive camp lodges in Uganda and a top luxury accommodation option in Bwindi. It is located in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The lodge has 10 spacious chalets built with local materials from the surrounding area. Each chalet has an en suite bathroom with a rain shower, hot running water, and a flush toilet. Some chalets also have bathtubs for extra comfort.
The chalets use an eco-friendly solar system and mosquito-proof window screens. The honeymoon chalet includes a separate lounge with an open fireplace.
The restaurant serves meals prepared with care, and the staff are welcoming. The bar is well stocked with both soft and alcoholic drinks. Guests can enjoy wide views of Bwindi Forest from the bar and restaurant.

Activities near the lodge
Gorilla Trekking: The main activity in Bwindi is gorilla trekking. Treks start in the early morning and may last 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once a family is found, visitors spend one hour observing and taking photos. Trekking rules and regulations must be followed, and children under 15 years as well as adults with infectious diseases are not allowed to trek.
How to Get There
Buhoma Lodge can be reached by road with a full day’s drive from Entebbe or Kampala, 2 hours from the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, or 6 hours from Lake Mburo.
Chartered flights are also available from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to Kihihi Airstrip, followed by a 10-minute drive to the lodge.
