Searching for visa information for Rwanda & East Africa? A visa is a document that allows the holder to enter, stay, or leave a country for a specific period of time. In most cases, a visa is valid for 30 days per entry.
In Rwanda, nationals of all countries are required to have a visa in order to enter, stay, or leave the country. A visa can be obtained on arrival at Kigali International Airport or at border entry points.
Travelers can also apply for a visa from a Rwanda Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence before departure. If there is no mission in your country, you can apply online and pay either online or upon arrival.
If you plan to travel within Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya, you can apply for an East African Tourist Visa. This visa is cheaper than buying three separate visas and is valid for 90 days. However, your first entry must be through the country where you obtained the visa. It automatically expires once you leave the three countries.
If your visa is about to expire, you must apply for an extension before the old one runs out. Applications are submitted to the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration offices.
Requirements for a Rwanda Visa
