Mweya Safari Lodge

Accommodation at Mweya Safari Lodge is offered in 12 deluxe rooms, 32 standard rooms, 2 suites, cottages, luxury tents, the Queen’s Cottage, and the Presidential Cottage. The lodge also has four luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, deck terraces, and wide views of the Kazinga Channel.

The standard rooms overlook Lake George and Lake Edward. They are well furnished with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies. The deluxe rooms are similar but have finer furnishings and air conditioning. The suites include a spacious living room with sofas, perfect for relaxing and enjoying refreshments from the in-room mini bar after a long safari.

For families, the lodge has two cottages. The Rwenzori Cottage has one master bedroom, two twin bedrooms with shared facilities, a spacious living room with fans, and a mini fridge with tea and coffee services. The Royal Cottage is similar but has one master bedroom and one twin bedroom.

The Queen’s Cottage offers great comfort and overlooks the Kazinga Channel. This is the cottage where Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom stayed during her visit, after which the park was renamed in her honor. The cottage has a master bedroom with a king-size bed, en-suite shower, sunken bath, a twin en-suite bedroom, living and dining rooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, mini bar, and air conditioning. The Presidential Cottage offers similar luxury and amenities.

Mweya Safari Lodge is one of the top luxury lodges in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The swimming pool overlooks the Kazinga Channel and is a perfect place to relax after a day of activities. There is also a pool bar, sauna, gym, steam bath, health club, treatment rooms, and an exercise studio.

The lodge has a business center open daily from 7 am to 8 pm to meet business travel needs. A large conference hall provides space for meetings and events. A gift shop sells handmade crafts that guests can take home as souvenirs or gifts. Within the lodge grounds is the Uganda Wildlife Information Center, which shares details about Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Great Rift Valley.

Guests can dine in the indoor restaurant or on the veranda with views of the channel. Meals are prepared by experienced chefs, and on Saturday evenings guests enjoy barbeque dinners with traditional dance performances. The Tembo Bar serves a wide range of drinks, including wines, beers, and spirits, and overlooks both Lake Edward and the Kazinga Channel.
