Trekkers Tavern Cottages is an eco-friendly lodge located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, just 2 kilometers from the park headquarters. It sits on top of a hill with wide views of the ancient Bwindi forest, and on clear days, you can also see the Virunga volcanoes.
Accommodation is offered in five spacious cottages, each well furnished with en-suite bathrooms and flush toilets. Every cottage has a private veranda where guests can relax, enjoy views of Bwindi, and watch birds.

Gorilla trekking is the main activity for visitors staying at the lodge. The gorilla families in the Buhoma sector include Mubare, the first habituated family in Bwindi, Habinyanja, and Rushegura.
Trekking can take between 30 minutes and 7 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas and the pace of the group. Once you find the gorillas, you are allowed one hour with them. Children under 15 years are not allowed to trek. Gorilla permits in Uganda cost $800 per person and should be booked in advance.
