Hippo Safari Lodge is set on a quiet hill in the Mweya region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. From here, guests can view Kitako and Kabazimu islands on Lake Edward. The lodge is ideal for visitors seeking a wilderness experience.
Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in western Uganda, is home to 95 species of mammals, 615 bird species, and 5 main vegetation types out of 57 found in the country. These include forest grassland, swamp vegetation, bushy grassland, acacia woodland, and lakeshore. The park covers 1,978 square kilometers and is the most visited in Uganda.
The lodge has 10 spacious Meru-style safari tents with grass-thatched roofs. Each tent is comfortably furnished, with en-suite facilities. A canvas wall with a zipper separates the bedroom from the bathroom.
Every evening, a campfire is lit where guests can relax under the stars. The dining area serves both local and international meals, and the bar offers a variety of drinks.
